General Directorate of Regional Agricultural Economy and Veterinary Medicine

1. The General Directorate of Regional Agricultural Economy and Veterinary Medicine is responsible for coordinating and monitoring the operation of all the organic units under it and ensuring their smooth operation. It must be in continuous cooperation with the competent Ministry in order to better deal with the problems and the cases of their competence, especially in the areas of strengthening the quality of the agricultural products of the Region, ensuring sustainable agricultural and fishing practices, food safety, the development and modernization of agricultural holdings, the carrying out of controls, in accordance with the existing legislation for the protection of livestock, ensuring the health of animals and taking measures to protect public health in the Region of Thessaly. 2. The General Directorate collaborates with the General Directorate of Development Planning, Environment and Infrastructure in the planning, processing, implementation and evaluation of projects and actions in the field of its thematic object.
